Disclosures

I write about medicines and companies I have worked with, so you should know where my money and my loyalties have come from. Read anything on this site with these in mind.

Research funding

Through the clinical research organizations I have led or co-founded, most recently Inner Space Research, I have received funding to run industry-sponsored clinical trials from numerous pharmaceutical and biotechnology sponsors. These include Janssen (Johnson & Johnson), the maker of esketamine (Spravato); Definium Therapeutics (formerly MindMed), the developer of lysergide (DT120, formerly MM120); and Compass Pathways, the developer of COMP360 psilocybin. The funding is paid to the research organization under contract, to conduct the studies.

Consulting

I am a paid consultant to Definium Therapeutics on commercialization and clinical rollout, and I advise other pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies on similar questions.

Speaking

I have previously been a paid speaker for Spravato (Janssen).

Clinics

I founded Cedar Psychiatry, Utah's first esketamine clinic, and have owned and operated several clinics that offered esketamine and ketamine among their treatments. I served as Chief Medical Officer of Novamind and Chief Clinical Officer of Numinus, companies that operated ketamine and psychedelic-therapy clinics. I do not currently own a clinic that delivers treatment.

Publications

I was first author of the phase 2b trial of MM120 (lysergide) in generalized anxiety disorder, published in JAMA in 2025.

How this site is written

No company pays for, reviews or approves what I write here. Numbers about investigational medicines come from published papers and public announcements, never from confidential trial information. Everything on this site is educational and is not medical advice.
